When To Scan?
Scan 1 – Pregnancy Confirmation
Between 30-35 days from the last mating, our skilled team conducts the first scan, which is crucial for pregnancy confirmation, as well as estimating the number of puppies and determining the due date.
*Please note that the number of puppies provided is an estimate, as gestation sacs tend to hide behind one another, which may result in an unintentional duplication during the counting process.
Scan 2 – Detailed View
At 50+ days gestation, we recommend a rescan to ensure the pregnancy is on track and to get a detailed view of the adorable puppies. As part of the package, you’ll receive precious photos and videos of the scan, perfect for cherishing the memories.
Scan 3 – Post Whelping
We understand the importance of ensuring a smooth birthing process for your pet. With our additional scan, we can provide peace of mind by confirming that the bitch has completed the birth process and by ruling out any retained afterbirths.
Benefits

What To Expect At The Appointment
Appointment length: please allocate approximately 45 minutes for your pet’s appointment duration.
Step 1
We understand the importance of putting you and your pet at ease. Prior to the scan, we spend time meeting your beloved companion and building a strong connection to ensure a relaxed experience.
Step 2
Once the scanning equipment is properly set up, we will position your pet on a comfortable vet bed mat, specifically targeting their stomach area. Throughout the scan, we kindly request your collaboration in helping your pet remain in position, ensuring their relaxation and cooperation.
We will prepare for the scan by applying an ample amount of ultrasound gel to both your pet’s stomach area and the probe head.
Step 3
As we perform the scan, we will continuously optimize the scanner’s settings to achieve the clearest images possible. Our examination will commence at your pet’s tail end, progressing along the midline to thoroughly investigate the interior, confirm pregnancy, and evaluate viability by identifying individual heartbeats.
Whenever feasible, we will pause the screen to provide a detailed explanation of what we observe during the scan. Additionally, we can capture cine clips to showcase specific moments and email them to you along with any images taken during the appointment.
Step 4
After completing the scan, we will take the necessary steps to remove any excess gel, minimizing the need for self-cleaning.
If you have any questions, we will be here to provide you with answers and offer pregnancy and whelping advice as needed.
In case the initial scan doesn’t provide a positive result, we can arrange a rescan for you. Our discounted rescan service is available within 7-10 days of the initial appointment. Please be aware that the visibility of the pregnancy may become clearer after reaching the 30-day gestation milestone.
